Aaron was born on the Ides of March, 1975. As a youth, he enjoyed Saturday morning cartoons, especially the short-lived Dungeons and Dragons series. Just before he began kindergarten in the Fall of 1980, Aaron's father began a long battle with brain cancer, ultimately dying in 1989. Meanwhile, the young Aaron destroyed many toys and found a way to scrape, cut, or bruise most of his body. Halloween and the Fourth of July quickly became his favorite holidays.

In high school, Aaron decided to inflict copious amounts of self-pain by joining the cross-country team. He also hired someone to kill him, but only as the lead in the school play, Deadly Earnest. Eventually they gave him a diploma.

As Aaron toddled off to college, he quickly realized he had inheritated the family curse--teaching in public schools. Earning his B.S. in secondary education and English, Aaron has taught English at McLouth High School in Northeast Kansas for the past nine years, serving as forensics (speech and drama) sponsor for eight of those years. During the 2006-07 school year, he was district nominee for Kansas Teacher of the Year.

Aaron currently lives in Lawrence, Kansas with his beautiful wife and two energetic sons.
